Click here to run a free scan for registry errors
This setting lets you disable the last status of regedit.exe.
Level: Recommended For Experts Only
Description:
Regedit.exe displays the last key accessed, when it ran last time. Windows xp me and 2000 has this facility. Some changes in the registry can disable the display. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey \currentversion\applets\regedit is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create string value name lastkey, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and clear the value data. Click the regedit key and then click permissions on the edit menu. Remove full control access for any user, who does not want regedit to display the last key, the user accessed in the previous session and then click ok. Note: if permissions cannot be removed, they have to be denied. Quit from registry. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
