Clear recent file list of MS Excel
This setting lets you clear the recent file list of MS Excel.

Description:
The recent ms excel file list contains the files opened or used during the last 30 days. Windows has the feature, which enables it. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey \excel\recent files is not present, create it as explained below. Now, delete all registry entry, which has file[1..n] like file1, file2, file3 and file4 as string value except default. Click ok to close the registry. Logoff or restart your system. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Excel\Recent Files\]</b> key, right-click on the "File[1..N]" keys as shown in the picture and click on "Delete".
