Hide the System Folder Publishing/Network in the Places Bar

Places Bar is placed at the left side of Microsoft Office Open/Save dialog to allow the user fast access to History, Desktop, My Documents etc. This setting enables you to hide the system folder Publishing/Network.

Description:
Places bar is placed at the left side of microsoft office open/save dialog to allow the user fast access to history, desktop, my documents etc. This setting enables you to hide the system folder publishing/network. By default, the system folder publishing/network is shown in the places bar. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value show, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 0 which can hide the system folder publishing/network in the places bar. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to 1. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Second, go to the <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Common\Open Find\Places\StandardPlaces\Publishing\]</b> key, right-click on the blank area in the right pane and click on the "New > DWORD Value" to create a new DWORD value with the name "Show".
Third, right-click on the 'Show' DWORD value and click on "Modify".
Finally, enter the value "0" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
