Hide the History system folder in the Places Bar.
Places Bar is the bar which allows you to jump directly to History, My Documents etc in the lift side of Microsoft Office Open/Save dialog. This tweak is used to hide the History System folder in Places Bar of MS Office XP.

Places bar is the bar which allows you to jump directly to history, my documents etc in the lift side of microsoft office open/save dialog. This tweak is used to hide the history system folder in places bar of ms office xp. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value show, in the right panel, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify its value to 0 which can hide history folder. However, if you want show the folder back, change the value data to 1 or delete the added value. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Common\Open Find\Places\StandardPlaces\Recent\]</b> key, right-click on the blank area in the right pane and click on "New > DWORD Value" to create a new DWORD value with the name "Show".

Third, right-click on the 'Show' DWORD value and click on "Modify".

Finally, enter the value "0" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
