Minimize Microsoft Outlook XP/2002 to the notification area.

Description: This setting enables you to minimize microsoft outlook to the notification area. By default, if you minimize microsoft outlook, it will be minimized to the taskbar, so that it will appear with other windows. If you apply this setting, microsoft outlook will be minimized to the notification area. The notification area is at the right side of the taskbar where you can find the system clock and running background programs. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value mintotray, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can minimize microsoft outlook to the notification area. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to 0. To see the effects simply restart the microsoft outlook. Note: by default this featured is enabled in outlook 2003.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'. |

Next, go to <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Preferences\] </b> and create a DWORD value as 'MinToTray'. |

Now righjt click on the DWORD value 'MinToTray' and select 'Modify'. |

Finally set the value data as '1' and click 'OK'. |
