Prevent the deletion of existing printers (For Current User).
This setting prevents deletion of existing local and network printers.

Description:
This setting prevents you from deleting a printer configured either on your system or at a network place. When you double-click printers and faxes in control panel, all the printers configured in your account are displayed. You can delete a printer, by using option to delete from the left panel or file menu or the option available at right-clicking the printer icon. Important: in windows 98,me and 2000, the icon is named printers. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value nodeleteprinter, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can prevent deletion of printers. However, if you want to enable back the deletion option, change the value to 0. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit". |

Second, go to the <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\]</b> key and right-click in the open area to create a new DWORD value "NoDeletePrinter". |

Third, right-click on the "NoDeletePrinter" DWORD value and click on 'Modify'. |

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'. |
