Description:
Upon right-clicking the printer configured on your system will show the properties option, which in turn calls the printers properties dialog box. The properties dialog box of a printer is used to configure the printer port, resolution, paper size, fonts etc. If this setting is enabled, the general and details tabs are hidden in the printers properties dialog box, thus you cant change specific settings for your printer. Since the details tab allows configuring the printer settings, therefore there may be the need to remove the access to it for not experienced users. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value noprintertabs, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can restrict access to specific printer properties. However, if you want to enable the hidden tabs back, change the value to 0 or delete the value. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.
