Remove the Desktop tab from Display Properties dialog (For Current User).
This setting enables you to remove the Desktop tab from the Display Properties dialog box.

This setting enables you to remove the desktop tab from the display properties dialog box. By using desktop tab you can change wallpaper images and set their display style. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey \system does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a dword value nodispbackgroundpage, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can remove the tab desktop from the display properties dialog box. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to 0. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: in windows vista, the desktop background option in right panel is removed from the window while in windows 98 & me, desktop tab is named as background. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\] </b> and create a new key as "System".

Create a new 'DWORD value' as "NoDispBackgroundPage".

Right-click on "NoDispBackgroundPage" and select 'Modify'.

Finally set the value data as "1" and click 'OK'.
