Description: This setting enables you to remove themes and appearance tabs from the display properties dialog box. By using appearance tab you can change the layout of windows and dialogs with the changed color and font while the themes tab enables to apply the desired windows theme. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey \system does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a dword value nodispappearancepage, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can remove the tabs themes and appearance from the display properties dialog box. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to 0. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: in windows vista, the themes and appearance option in right panel is removed from the window while windows 98 & me has only appearance tab.
