Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
This tweak lets you remove control panel, printers and faxes and network connection icons from settings on the start menu and also from my computer and windows explorer. This tweak may also disable the shortcut keys (windows + e) to run windows explorer. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey \explorer does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a dword value nosetfolders in the right panel. Now, right-click and modify its value to 1 which can prevent display of the icons. However, if you want to show the icons back, change the value data to 0 or delete the added values. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
