This setting hides the Standard toolbar in Internet Explorer. It prevents users from messing with toolbars by changing their selections regularly in Internet Explorer.
Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
In internet explorers' view menu, theres an item toolbars which lists different toolbars associated with the browser. These toolbars can be activated/deactivated by applying/removing the tick marks on the menu item. The standard toolbar helps identify and use the various options through easily recognizable icons and their descriptions. Hiding of standard toolbar is useful in a kiosk, library, or public outlets where you don't want users to change toolbars selection in internet explorer. For this go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If any of the subkeys internet explorer\toolbars\restrictions is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create a dword value notoolbar, in the right panel. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can hide standard toolbar in internet explorer. However, if you want to go back to the original state, change the value to 0. The changes will take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: this setting can be applied to windows explorer as well. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
