Change the default disk utilities for the file backup utility (Windows 98 / ME)

Description: This setting lets you control the default tools used for windows disk management backup. Changing the values will alter the programs used when you right-click a disk in my computer > properties > tools. Backup option is given to you, when the existing drive is compressed through drivespace. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, create a string value name, default, if it does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value data box with the valid path for backup.exe to enable the setting. Click ok and close the registry editor. After logoff or system restart, changes take effect. Note: the default value for windows 98 / me is: c:\windows\backup.exe to return the value to the default either set it to a value above or delete the entire sub-key.

Finally, enter the value "User Defined Path" Without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect. |
