Change the Default Disk Utilities For the disk cleanup utility (Windows 2K / XP)
This setting lets you control the default tools used for Windows disk management - Disk Cleanup.

Description: Changing the values will alter the programs used when you right-click a disk in my computer > properties > tools. When you click the disk cleanup button located in the hard disk drive property sheet, disk cleanup may not open. Instead, one of the following may occur: your user profile folder or the my documents folder may open. The following error message occurs: windows cannot locate the disk cleanup program. The program file may be corrupted or may have been deleted from your computer. To reinstall disk cleanup, run windows setup again. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey \cleanuppath does not exist, create it as described below. Now, create a string value name, default, if it does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value data box with the valid path for cleanmgr.exe to enable the setting. Click ok and close the registry editor. After logoff or system restart, changes take effect. Note:: the default value for nt/2000/xp is: %systemroot%\system32\cleanmgr.exe /d %c to return the value to the default either set it to a value above or delete the entire sub-key.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit". |

Second, go to the <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\CleanupPath\]</b> key, right-click on the "Default" Expandable String Value and click on "Modify". |

Finally, enter the value to reflect the path of the program you want to use in the text box and click on 'OK'. |
