By using this tweak you are able to force windows to display shortcuts without the arrow in the bottom left hand corner. For this, go to start > run menu, enter "regedit" and navigate to the registry paths listed below. Now delete the value named "isshortcut" from each of the three keys. Each of these three keys represents one of three kinds of shortcuts. First one represents link shortcuts, the most common shortcut, which role is just to point to another file. Second key represents pif shortcuts. This is special type of shortcuts, which can contain some information how to run program, and even can be executive program by itself. Third shortcut is internet shortcut which represents just url of some web page. If you want to visit that page you need to have internet connection. Note: this tweak effectively changes the properties of shortcuts so they are no longer considered to be shortcuts by windows. This may have some slight side effects, for example hot keys won't work as before.
