Hide recent documents from Start menu (for all users)
This tweak is used to hide recent documents from the Start menu and also hide the Corresponding checkbox from the Start menu customization CPL.

Description:
The system saves a shortcut to each and every document that has been opened recently and provides it in the documents option in start menu so that it should be available to the user, when he/she wants to open it again. This option can be hidden or displayed again. For this, you have to make changes in the registry. Go to start->run and enter regedit and click ok. Search the key listed below and check for the dword value norecentdocsmenu in right panel, create if not existing. Enter the value 1 to enable the setting and 0 to disable it. After logoff or restart, changes take effect. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\]</b>, key and create a new key with the name "Explorer" under "Policies".

Go to <b> [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policie s\Explorer]</b>,right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoRecentDocsMenu" in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "NoRecentDocsMenu" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" (Base Hexadecimal) without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect.
