This setting enables you to remove the list of recently used items on the start menu during the logoff process.
Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
Windows stores the list of most recently used files and urls that you have accessed recently. If you enable this setting, you can delete the list of recently used documents on the start menu during the logoff process. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value clearrecentdocsonexit, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can delete the list of recently used documents on the start menu during the logoff process. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to 0. Note: in windows vista, the recent items folder is removed from start menu on applying the tweak. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
