Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
When a new message is received, a beep sound is played, if enabled, but sometimes it is not played. We recommend to first check the option to play sound for new mail notification. The default sound file for new mail notification is given at the displayed registry path. To change the sound file, replace the complete path with the new sound (.wav) file destination. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the expandable string value default, in the right panel, with complete path to the new sound file. However, if you want to play the default sound, replace new path with earlier. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
