This tweak can disable auto-run function of Windows Messenger, which starts messenger with Windows.

Windows messenger is automatically run at the windows startup, if the functionality is configured. By using this tweak you are able to disable auto-run. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. When you find value msmsgs, delete it to disable auto-run of msn application. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to <b> [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\RUN\]</b>, in the open area right-click on "MSMSGS" and click on 'Delete'.
