Description: The color setting is used for hyperlinks, which open pop-up windows, located in different help file. This has three values red, green and blue. These values specify the color of texts that are hyperlinked. The valid values for the colors start from 000 to 999, which represent highest intensity. The three values of 000 000 000 represent the colors of red, green and blue respectively and this combination displays black text on a white background. The high-contrast color schemes are used to optimize the visibility of screen objects for people with visual impairments. With this setting you can change the color of hypertext of windows help file. Its a text when chosen, displays a pop-up panel (the type of panel used for glossary definitions), located in a different help file. You can experiment till you get the desired colors. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, double-click on the string value systemroot to copy the contents of the value data field from the dialog. In the second step, open windows explorer and paste the windows folder path in the address bar. Search for the file win.ini, which is imbibed with windows settings and double-click to open it in notepad. Here, look for the [windows help] (without quotes) section and add ifpopupcolor=255 000 000 (without quotes) in a new line under the section heading. If the [windows help] section does not exist, create it at the end of the file and type the code information given below. The code should appear as below in the win.ini file: <table><tr><td> code</td></tr><tr><td><table><tr><td> [windows help] ifpopupcolor =255 000 000 </td></tr></table></td></tr></table> finally, save the file. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: this setting applies to the .hlp file format and not to the .chm file format.
