This tweak lets you disable the feature play animations in web pages.

Animation feature makes windows look good and faster but it slows down downloading or playing animated pictures, if you have a slower internet connection. With this tweak you can disable playing animations on web pages. This tweak affects animated gif files only and not java applets. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the string value play_animations, in the right panel, to no which can disable playing animations. However, if you want to revert to the original state, change the value data to 0. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.


First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'.
Next, go to <b> [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\] </b> and right click on the String value 'Play_Animations' and select 'Modify'.
Finally set the value data as 'no' and click 'OK'.
