This tweak lets you disable playing of sounds in Web pages.

Description:
Surfing a page takes time if it has sounds, pictures and videos also. If your internet connection is slow then you may want to disable playing sounds on web pages when online. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the string value play_background_sounds, in the right panel, to no which can disable playing sound. However, if you want to revert to the original state, change the value data to 0. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'.
Next, go to <b> [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\] </b> and right click on the String value 'Play_Background_Sounds' and select 'Modify'.
Finally set the value data as 'no' and click 'OK'.
