Description: Power plan are combination of hardware and system settings that can help you maximize your computers performance or conserve energy. Per user energy consumption can be managed from balanced, power saver, or high performance plans. These plans are designed to balance energy conservation with performance, save energy, or maximize system performance. If the designed plans dont meet your requirements, you can create one for yourself. To access the power options window go to start > control panel > hardware and sound. Here, double-click on power options to select your preferred plan or create an own. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, to take control on the power schemes, assign permissions to yourself or to everyone in the group. Then, right-click and modify the string value activepowerscheme, in the right panel, with value of any of the three power plans. First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'. |

Second, go to registry path listed above and click on Edit and select 'Permissions'. |

Third, add Everyone to the groups with Full Control permissions. |

Now, right click on the String value 'ActivePowerScheme' and select 'Modify'. |

Finally change the value data as per the list above for 'Balanced', 'Power Saver' or 'High Performance' accordingly. |
