Description: Microsoft has designed a hybrid drive that is currently supported only in vista. This drive uses a non-volatile (nv) cache to achieve faster boot and resume. Portion of the required data is stored in the nv cache during shutdown and hibernate respectively. However, if you turn the feature off you may notice a slight increase in the time taken for shutdown and hibernate. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey \nvcache does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a dword value optimizebootandresume in the right panel, and change its data value to 0. However, to turn on nv cache feature, delete the subkey nvcache. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.
