Description: Microsoft has designed a hybrid drive that is currently supported only in vista. This drive uses a non-volatile (nv) cache to achieve faster boot and resume. A portion of most commonly used data is copied onto the nv cache which in turn minimizes dependency on the hard drive. Eventually, this speeds up performance of your system. However, if nv cache is not supported on your system or is incompatible with your system you may try to turn it off. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey \nvcache does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a dword value enablenvcache in the right panel, and change its data value to 0. However, to turn on nv cache power saving feature, delete the subkey nvcache. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.
