Frame Buffer
Question: What does "frame buffer"
mean?
Answer: The amount of memory that holds the entire bit-mapped
image that is sent to the monitor. The frame buffer usually
is stored in the memory chips on the video adapter. The video
chip set can also be integrated into the motherboard design,
and the frame buffer stored in the main memory.
