What is: DAFS (Direct Access File System)
Description: A file access protocol designed to take advantage of standard memory-to-memory interconnect technologies such as VI (the Virtual Interface Architecture) and InfiniBand in high-performance clustered data center architectures. DAFS allows programs to access network interface hardware without intervention from the operating. DAFS can carry out bulk data transfers directly to or from application buffers with little overhead from the CPU.
