DIMM (dual in-line memory module) - Term
Description
What is: DIMM (dual in-line memory module)
Description: DIMM is a circuit board that holds memory chips, with a 64-bit path to the memory chips. A single in-line memory module (SIMM) has a 32-bit path to the memory chips. Because the Pentium processor requires a 64-bit path to memory, you must install two SIMMs. With DIMMs, you need to install one only at a time.
