What is: ZDR (zone density recording)
 
Description:
A way of increasing disk capacity with bit density management. Each disk surface is divided into sixteen circumferential zones, with all tracks within a specific zone containing a constant number of data sectors. The number of sectors for each track is different in each zone. The outermost zone contains the most data sectors. The innermost contains the smallest number of data sectors.
