disk image - Term Description

What is: disk image

Description:
A disk image is an exact copy of the hard drive that can be used to restore Windows, all installed programs and all data. Creating disk images is usually much slower than creating backups which makes it impractical to use disk images for daily backups. Instead, a disk image is often created once after you install Windows and all programs and normal backups are then used to backup all data files, email documents, and settings.
