What is: iSCSI (Internet Small Computer System Interface)
 
Description:
An Internet Protocol (IP)-based storage networking standard for linking data storage facilities. This protocol was developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and is often used to manage storage over long distances. By carrying SCSI commands over IP networks, iSCSI can transmit data over local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), or the Internet and can enable data transmission that is independent of the location.
