The free RAM function does not automatically start when the free ram falls below the threshold line because there are many short peaks and troughs which would cause SpeedUpMyPC to execute it's free RAM function regularly. What SpeedUpMyPC does is it takes an average free RAM reading within one minute and if that average falls below threshold then free RAM will be initiated.
