Actiontec 56 K modem is a data as well as fax modem that is produced by Actiontec Electronics Inc and is ESS technology powered. It is an internal HSP modem (Host Signal Processing module custom) which has been created for Dell Computer Corporation. This modem supports the V.90 analog standard as well as functionality of data and fax. V.90 is a 56 Kbps modem standard approved by the ITU (International Telecommunication Union). It is a replacement of the two former modem standards; K56Flex from Rockwell and X2 from US robotics. As a data modem, the Actiontec 56K modem can support data modes and as a fax modem, this modem can send and receive messages in the form of a fax in the same way as the fax machine.
