Adrenaline is an SCSI card produced by Kofax. SCSI is an acronym for Small Computer System Interface and refers to a group of standards which enable the physical connection as well as transfer of data from a computer to a peripheral device and vice versa. The standards for SCSI characterize protocols, commands, along with electrical as well as optical interfaces. Typically, SCSI is used for tape drives and hard disks but can also be extended to include scanners as well as CD drives. Some of the characteristics of SCSI are that it is an intelligent interface which means that it covers the complex physical format. It is a peripheral interface meaning that a maximum of sixteen devices can be connected to one bus; it is a buffered interface, that is, uses hand shake indications from device to device. SCSI is also a peer to peer interface which means that communication from peripheral device to peripheral device is possible with SCSI though uncommon in other interfaces.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
Adrenaline SCSI card, like other SCSI cards, functions in the following manner. It is inserted in PCI slots found within the computer. It does not require the Central Processing Unit (CPU) as it comes with a processing chip. It provides a much faster speed compared to IDE standards and is therefore more useful in meeting various needs such as burning as well as playing of DVDs and CDs. Another benefit of an SCSI card is its ability to connect to a maximum of 15 devices for each card, a configuration referred to as daisy chaining. When buying SCSI cards, users are advised to always ensure that the SCSI card matches well with their SCSI components. The Adrenaline SCSI boards from Kofax are 650i, 450 and 650. The latest version of the Adrenaline SCSI driver should always be used as older versions can create conflict in the work of the device. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Adrenaline errors before installing any driver updates.
