Windows device driver information for AMD-8111 AC'97 Audio Controller Driver

The AMD-8111 AC'97 Audio Controller Driver is used for controlling the audio output in conjunction with the AMD-8111 HyperTransport I/O hub. This driver uses the core-logic and feature rich AMD-8111 hub’s advanced I/O functionality. This functionality is employed in systems using the HyperTransport technology. This hub replaces the more traditional ‘Southbridge’ and incorporates audio, connectivity, storage, security, system management and I/O expansion functions into one device. The AMD-8111 HyperTransport I/O hub utilizes the interface of the 8 bit HyperTransport technology which supports up to a maximum of 800 MB per second bandwidth. The I/O hub employs a 32 bit PCI 2.2 compliant, 33 MHz PCI bus that has support for up to a maximum of 8 PCI devices and the AC-97 interface supported by the driver for 6 channel soft audio and soft modem. It likewise uses an integrated 10/ 100 Ethernet MAC that has a MII interface.

Outdated Drivers?

Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.

To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates

The AMD-8111 HyperTransport I/O hub also has 1 USB EHCI controller and 2 USB OHCI controllers that have support for up to 6 ports and an EIDI controller that has support for ATA 100, 66, 133 and 100 transfer modes. Other features of this hub include an LPC bus, a serial IRQ interface, an accurate event timer, a RTC or real time clock and an IOAPIC controller. The HyperTransport interconnect technology used by the AMD-8111 hub is an advanced packet based, scalable, low latency, high bandwidth point to point technology. Its main function is linking processors to each other, coprocessors to processors and peripheral and I/O controllers to processors. This technology is open standard and is licensed, promoted and managed by the HyperTransport Consortium. The HyperTransport technology can be deployed in a host of commercial, mission critical and consumer applications such as embedded designs, gaming systems, PCs, networking equipment, supercomputers, servers and workstations. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and AMD-8111 AC'97 Audio Controller Driver errors before installing any driver updates.
