The AVM FRITZ!Card DSL and its associated device driver was designed to support the implementation of Integrated Services Digital Network and Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line standards. The Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line specification implemented by the device driver allows for the transmission of data packets using high speed Internet connections on conventional telephone cables. For the Integrated Services Digital Network specifications the computer user becomes capable of sending fax, files, voice, and video communications from the host computer system. The presence of the AVM FRITZ!Card DSL and the correct device driver converts the standard Personal Computer system into a complete communication center that can bring distinct advantages to virtually every type of computing environment. The device driver and its supporting protocols maximize the potentials of high speed Internet access by optimizing line quality while maintaining operational reliability. Bundled with the installation package for the device driver is the FRITZ! communication software application explicit to the supported hardware component.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The system drivers for the AVM FRITZ!Card DSL support DSL, WAN, CAPI, and NDIS operations for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line connections. The same standards are supported for the Integrated Services Digital Network with the addition of CAPI Port Drivers and AVM TAPI Services for the CAPI specification. The back panel of this particular hardware component consists of two input slots specific for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line and Integrated Services Digital Network connections. The device driver is partly responsible for detecting any active connections on these communication ports and make them available to the host computer system accordingly. The installation of the AVM FRITZ!Card DSL requires a vacant PCI slot on the computer motherboard. The device driver allows this supported hardware component to function in conjunction with an existing Integrated Services Digital Network controller card. The device driver also communicates with the device driver of the audio card in order to implement the full duplex functionality of its communication program. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and AVM FRITZ!Card DSL (Win98/Me) errors before installing any driver updates.
