BenQ M2200HD D-SUB is a connector manufactured by Benq Corporation for their BenQ M2200HD monitor which has a D-Sub output port. A D-Sub is a common electrical connector which is used mostly in computers. It has several pins or sockets arranged in two or more parallel lines and surrounded by a metal shield in the shape of a D which gives mechanical support, ensures that the orientation is accurate and protects against electromagnetic interference. It has a part with pin connectors which is referred to as the male connector or simply the plug, whereas the part which has the socket contacts is referred to as the socket or the female connector. The widest D-Sub application is RS-232 serial communications. Different D-Subs have different numbers of pins. For the BenQ M2200HD D-SUB, the D-SUB is HD- 15 meaning that it features 15 pins.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
D-SUB connectors come in at least five different types; wire wraps, insulation displacement, PCB pins, solder-bucket and crimp. However, the usage of D-Subs is declining because of the size as well as the cost. Users will find that D-Sub connectors usually do not fit into portable devices like MP3 players, PDAs and mobile phones as they are too big. Also, the physical design of D-Subs is not receptive to plug-and-play applications. The narrow metal pins get easily broken when the user keeps plugging the in and out of the computer. Thus they are being replaced by DVI as well as HDMI connectors. Though the Benq M2200HD uses D-Sub for expansion as well as connectivity, it features DVI (Digital Visual Interface) and HDMI (High- Definition Multimedia Interface) as the digital video standard. The Benq M2200 HD also comes with a VGA cable, an audio cable and an USB cable. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and BenQ M2200HD D-SUB errors before installing any driver updates.
