NMEA or the National Marine Electronics Association provides a set of specifications that covers the operational interface that exists among pieces of electronic equipments that can be used for marine deployment. This technology references devices that make use of GPS or Global Positioning Service receivers in order to communicate the location of a specific element. In this context the BenQ NMEA Device supports the implementation of these standards by allowing its associated device driver to support data that completes Position, Velocity, and Time or commonly referred to as PVT. The values for these attributes are computed by the GPS receiver to allow the sending of a data set which is completely self contained as well as independent. The signals supported by the device driver of the BenQ NMEA Device may belong to a specific class or may be sent out as a proprietary signal of a specific enterprise.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The data sets are also referred to as sentences. The sentences consists mainly of a data type which is the first word and is used to provide an interpretation for the rest of the sentence. This is similar to a header file which allows the receiving party to identify specific properties of the data packet like its size and type of data contained. These types of data are normally used to verify integrity of the transmission as well as protect the rest of the sentence. For proprietary technologies the data type may be formatted in such a way that it presents a type of encryption key that will allow the receiving party to decipher the transmission. These types of deployment possibilities are all supported by the device driver of the BenQ NMEA Device hardware component. All of these sentences however must remain compliant to the NMEA standards. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and BenQ NMEA Device errors before installing any driver updates.
