The Bluetooth Multiport Module by Compaq is the Bluetooth communications implementation by HP that delivers wireless connectivity by utilizing the Bluetooth protocol. This implementation is capable of providing a flexible interface for integrating the Bluetooth protocol into Compaq notebook computers with the extra benefit of having the mini PCI and PC Card slots available for other protocols or technologies. Further, the novel placement and design of the device greatly decreases susceptibility to noise and prevents degradation of signal strength while heightening the radio coverage. This device complies with the Bluetooth 1.1 specification. The Bluetooth Multiport Module by Compaq supports a host of profiles including the Service Discovery Application, General Access, Generic Object Exchange, Serial Port, FTP or File Transfer, Dialup Networking, Object Push, LAN Access, and Synchronization profiles. This device is compatible with the notebooks Presario 2700, Compaq Evo notebooks N800v, N800c, N600c, and N400c.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The frequency band employed by the Bluetooth Multiport Module by Compaq is 24000 to 2.4835 gigahertz (GHz), with 79 1 megahertz (MHz) channels available, and has a range of 100 meters. It also implements 1 Mbps (megabits per second) of data throughput and rate. It has synchronous links that are connection oriented up to 64 kilobits per second (kbps), voice channels and asynchronous links that are connection less in asymmetric 723.2 kilobits per second (kbps) or symmetric 433.9 kilobits per second (kbps). This device also has an integrated antenna that comes with special polarization diversity. Access points for the Bluetooth Multiport Module by Compaq include network neighborhood, corporate email, file transfer, LAN applications access, browsing the Internet by utilizing TCP/IP, and wireless link to wide area networks (WANs) via a mobile phone. Other access points include CDPD, ARDIS, RAM, DECT, PHS, PCS, and SMS/GSM. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Bluetooth Multiport Module by Compaq errors before installing any driver updates.
