Designed with laser printing, laser faxing, and digital copying technology, the Brother FAX-2850 can function either as a standalone device with a telephone handset or as an attached hardware component of a host computer system. It is supported by a mono laser engine that allows for printing speed of up to 14 pages per minute and an execution of a communication connection of 14.4 kilobits per second for fax operations. It is capable of applying a maximum resolution of 600 by 600 dots per inch for its various output capacities. The device driver supports the other feature sets that have been built into the hardware component including speed and group dial. The automatic document feeder is supported by a 250 sheet paper capacity to allow for continuous operation with minimal user intervention. The role of the device driver of the Brother FAX-2850 is to ensure that quality of performance is maintained regardless whether it is used as a standalone or as an attached hardware component.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The device driver also provides the host computer system with access to the internal 8 MB printing memory of the supported hardware component. This internal memory module allows for the storage of up to 400 pages of processed information that can be printed or faxed on demand. This means that even if the Brother FAX-2850 is deployed in a high traffic computer network environment there is minimal bottleneck in terms of print job requests. Essentially part of the role of the device driver is to make sure that all print job requests are properly queued and loaded into the device memory when necessary. Additional print job requests that exceed the 400 pages capacity of the hardware memory can also be queued up by the underlying operating system in conjunction with the device driver. In this context it may operate similar to batch processing tasks based on the limitations of its built-in memory module. The support for fast dial features allows the computer user to immediately send out documents via fax messaging from within software applications. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Brother FAX-2850 errors before installing any driver updates.
