The Brother MFC-580 provides the computer with an option of using either the Parallel (IEEE 1284) or the Universal Serial Bus interface port connection to the host computer system. Both type of interfaces is supported by the device driver with the main difference being the speed of data transmission that can be achieved. The Universal Serial Bus interface port is widely considered as the faster interface therefore allowing for better handling of data with minimal bottlenecks. In terms of printing operations this means that multiple simultaneous print tasks can be handled accordingly without down time. To assist in this process the Brother MFC-580 makes use of an Inkjet print engine that is supported by a 2 MB dedicated memory module. The device driver allows for the loading of print tasks to the printer memory for faster completion. In this context the device driver is partly responsible for the efficient handling of the print request queues sent by the host computer system.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
Based on the manufacturer's settings this printing device is capable of handling up to 8 colored pages per minute while delivering a maximum of 10 pages per minute in monochrome mode. The device driver also supports the execution of a maximum of 1200 by 1200 dots per inch printing resolution. The device driver of the Brother MFC-580 is likewise partly responsible for activating the multicopy feature for monochromatic mode. This feature allows for a two-in-one copy mode. The device driver also supports a copy mode with a maximum resolution of 1200 by 1200 dots per inch. A corresponding reduction or enlargement function may also be activated by the appropriate device driver. As for the scanning option the Brother MFC-580 can support a maximum resolution of 300 by 600 dots per inch for optical while a maximum of 2400 dots per inch for interpolated mode. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Brother MFC-580 errors before installing any driver updates.
