The Canon BJC-4400 is a general purpose printing device which is intended to handle daily printing requirements from simple software applications like word processors or simple textual contents. The quality delivered by the device driver primarily relies on the type of paper or printing material used. The better the paper type the better the color quality and the appearance of the textual contents. This is quite the opposite for majority of printing devices which rely on the printer settings to adjust the quality of the printed material. Many computer users believe that this is an attempt to promote the specialized paper materials marketed by its manufacturer. However, taking into consideration its overall functionality and price to performance ratio, the device driver can deliver a cost effective printing solution. The device driver supports two types of ink cartridges, regular colored and black and white ink and the specialized ink. The special cartridge is used mostly for printing photographs with improved quality especially when used in conjunction with coated premium paper.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The device driver of the Canon BJC-4400 also supports the implementation of the Photorealistic technology. This proprietary technology is intended to improve the appearance of photographs and other images when printed on paper. The device driver can also support an optional scanning cartridge which when used in place of the conventional ink cartridges allows the supported hardware component to function as an image or document scanner. This alternate implementation provides the computer user with a more flexible deployment for this hardware component. Generally this printer hardware component can handle a maximum paper size of 9 by 14 inches. Different types of media can be used in conjunction with the printing process applied by this hardware component like envelopes, transparencies, stickers, as well as t-shirt transfers among others. The maximum printing resolution that can be supported by the device driver is at 720 by 360 dots per inch based on the manufacturer's specifications. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Canon BJC-4400-Printer errors before installing any driver updates.
