The Canon LBP2900 makes use of the Canon Advanced Printing Technology which allows it to function not only in newer graphical user interface based operating system environments but also in older computer systems. The device driver also allows the printer hardware to correctly execute in a Common Unix Printing System environment. This same printing system is used in the various versions of the Linux operating system which means that this particular printing hardware can be easily deployed in any computing environment. The device driver makes it possible to implement a built-in On-Demand Fixing Technology which allows the computer user to accurately troubleshoot printing related problems that may arise at runtime. Unlike older device drivers for other printer hardware components which are used to produce third party hardware drivers this particular software component inherently supports virtually all types of operating system platforms.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
Device drivers basically serve as information or layout files for setup programs that are associated with specific hardware components. In some instances manufacturer designed device drivers have their generic counterparts which are meant primarily to make the supported device operational rather than functional. This means that in the case of printing hardware components for example the device can be used for printing purposes but its other feature sets are not activated. The manufacturer provided device driver activates all features built into the hardware component and provides the host operating system with an accurate description of the attached device. The device driver also supports any bundled software applications that may have been deployed together with the hardware component. It also provides a notification and monitoring system which allows the computer user to know in real time the status not only of the printing job but also of the Canon LBP2900 device. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Canon LBP2900 errors before installing any driver updates.
