The Canon S500 is a digital camera manufactured by Camera. The name is a short form of Canon PowerShot S500 (or IXUS 500). The camera has a new body design as compared to PowerShot 400 that was in use in the year 2008. Nevertheless, the Canon PowerShot S500 model has an improved resolution of 5.0 MP (based on its improved charge coupled device). Another new feature on the Canon PowerShot S500 camera is an additional button that enables users to print directly from the camera. Additionally, the new camera model has three control buttons at its top part: the zoom control that rings the shutter release button and is pushed to return to its central position, the shutter release button and a power switch that has a minute green light emitting diode positioned next to it.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
Like many other digital cameras, the Canon S500 has a zoom control that doubles as a means of enlarging images during playback with telephoto (zooms up to 10x) and as a mechanism for displaying thumbnails (approximately 9 per screen) when it is pushed to the side over a wide angle. When the playback or recording mode is selected, it incorporates the mode dial that is located on the left side of the camera's viewfinder. The Canon S500 camera can also be put in an auto mode in which it takes a few seconds to determine how an image is taken before shooting the subject. The camera's manual mode offers users more flexibility since they are able to select the CCD settings as well as white balance and access the extended shutter mode that is integrated in the camera. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Canon S500 errors before installing any driver updates.
