The CanoScan 8000F is a high quality scanner with a high resolution, very fast speed and producing high quality output. Its predecessor, D2400UF from Canon was a bit slower and did not produce very high quality. Some of its features include a dpi resolution of 2400 x 4800, a Hi-speed USB with a 2.0 interface, a color depth of 48-bit and a FARE dust together with scratch removal technology. The new scanner CanoScan 8000F has been described as a major technological feat. It is flexible and fairly easy to use. It can scan a total of 12 frames measuring 35 mm film all in a single pass. The CCD technology also enables it to produce images that are of high quality and producing very high detail. The images produced are best suited for enlargement as well as high resolution printing
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The CanoScan 8000F also comes together with a bundle of software. Tis includes Arcsoft PhotoStudio which is used for editing of images, Photobase which is instrumental in image management, NewSoft PageManager 6, Omnipage SE OCR and elements of Adobe photoshop which are used for adjustment of photo images. This scanner also has four buttons for convenience which allow the user to copy images if they have a printer hooked to it. The other scan buttons allow the use to scan to email directly, create a PDF file or scan instantly. The buttons can be reassigned to other functions for scanning directly. The performance as well as quality of the CanoScan 8000F has an enhanced performance and produces high quality materials. Unfortunately, it does not come with an option to scan film that is of medium format. All in all, it is reliable and is available for both home users and professionals.
