The device driver for the Caplio GX is used to present compliance to the Universal Serial Bus interface standards used by the host computer system. This is primarily done because the supported hardware component connects to the host machine via this communication port. When properly installed into the host computer system the underlying operating system can communicate with the attached hardware component and make use of its built-in functionalities. The installed software applications will also be able to its storage media which can be detected by the host operating system platform as a type of external storage device. The explorer function of the operating system environment will be able to successfully write and read to and from the removable media cards that are hosted by the Caplio GX camera. These stored files can then be copied to the local hard drive and subsequently subjected to post processing effects. The use of the Universal Serial Bus interface port allows for the execution of higher data transfer rates between the connected devices.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The installation of the correct device driver also allows the supported hardware component to comply with the specifications of the Windows Imaging Architecture or also referred to as the Windows Image Acquisition standards. By complying with these specifications the Caplio GX will be able to successfully communicate with the underlying operating system platform as well as installed graphics processing software applications. This means that there is a possibility that the feature sets of the supported hardware component may be accessible directly from the working environment of the software application. This standard also represents the Application Programming Interface used by the operating system platform. By supporting this standard via its device driver the Caplio GX completely complies with two industry accepted protocols, the WIA and the TWAIN. According to some computer experts the support for the WIA standard allows the hardware component to become more flexible because it does not require tight bundling of the driver as well as the software. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Caplio GX errors before installing any driver updates.
