The Dell DJ (Dell Digital Jukebox) is a digital audio player device based on the specifications set by Creative Technologies. This hardware component shares the same software and hardware platform as the Creative NOMAD and Zen audio player product lines. This however does not automatically mean that the device driver for this supported hardware component is compatible with those from Creative Technologies. The device driver of this hardware component supports the single TMS320DA25x processor chipset. The device driver also makes use of similar interfaces, menu, and playlist among others as those found in the audio player devices from Creative Technologies. These hardware components were initially distributed using hard drives and were later on converted to support flash based storage systems. This was done to support the refocusing of the company's marketing efforts for its flash based product lines as well as to actively compete with the audio players from other manufacturers.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The first generation of this audio player device were distributed in the market with two versions. One variant had a built-in storage capacity of 15 GB while the other was slightly larger with 2- GB storage space. The device driver for these versions supported features like voice recording and playback of various audio formats like MP3, WAV, and WMA (protected and unprotected) variants. An external hard drive can also be used in conjunction with the Dell DJ provided that the proper device driver is correctly installed in the host computer system. The second generation supported by the device driver initially came out with a smaller storage capacity at 5 GB. However, these audio players were marketed with unique functionalities like the inclusion of Microsoft PlayForSure certification along with smaller sized firmware. Other versions released for this product line included storage capacities ranging from 15 GB to 30 GB. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Dell DJ errors before installing any driver updates.
