The analog signals mainly come from transducers, sensors or both. The sensors and transducers convert pressure, temperature, light or sound into voltage. The process of converting analog signal to digital signals is known as analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion. Once the voltages are converted, a computerized system is then able to use the signals in chart recorders, process actuators audio amplifiers and other devices, which require to be driven on analog voltages.
