The Dual I/O Port B allows the user to connect two or more high-speed RS-232 ports to a mobile computer. The device is mostly used for connecting other devices such as modems/fax, bar code scanners, control systems, digital cameras, lab equipments, data collection gears, court reporting writers, GPS or DGPS receivers, label printers and wireless transmitters and receivers among others. The Dual I/O Port B enhances peripheral device performance with increased signal transfer speed. There is a built-in buffer feature which buffers the data before transmission to the intended device allowing continuous data stream flow to and from high speed peripheral devices such as fast modems and digital cameras. The Dual I/O Port B is compatible for operation with serial ports and several data transmission cables are used depending on the intended devices to be used with the Dual I/O Port B.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The Dual I/O Port B is integrated with a High-Integration (HIS) Socket manufactured chip which reduces chip count and improves device reliability hence low device power consumption. When on standby mode, the Dual I/O Port B uses 5mA making it standout among other PC serial cards which use more than 50mA. The use of low power extends the computes battery usage time hence more reliability. Some of the Dual I/O Port B technical features include a plug and play capability with exceptional hot swap capability when used in a Windows 95 platform. The Dual I/O Port B also configures to the connected peripheral device making it ideal for used with several compatible devices. It performs internal data buffering activities empowered by the integrated Two 16550 UARTs and RS-232 full bandwidth peripheral devices. The Dual I/O Port B also works with III and II PC Card sockets. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Dual I/O Port B errors before installing any driver updates.
