Windows device driver information for FC230 Services

The FC230 is a router manufactured by Quantum for networking purposes. The device is connected to the host computer through the SCSI differential bus, which uses a SCSI-2 command changer. The device enables easy conversion of ATL P-series information database from a SCSI to fiber channel. The ATL-P series features the P7000, P4000, P3000 and P2000 library models. The fiber channels which FC230 router converts the SCSI data support a maximum of 500-meter connections. In addition, it supports up to I Gigabyte data transfer per second. The router also supports a maximum of 126 gadgets on a loop. The router further addresses more than 16 million accessories supported by the 24-bit point-to-point networks. The router is independent of operating systems and the use of operating systems is therefore optional. Another advantage of the FC230 router is that it offers flexible interconnectivity between ports in a network.

Upon the installation and testing of the FC230 services router, the user is able to operate the information database as an ATL P-series, using the SCSI host interface. The installation of the FC230 services router includes connecting the router service to a service Pc to the library, starting the router services software, upgrading the router software and scanning the SCSI devices. The router has four different operations; immediate, get, set and Go. The immediate operation is an instant action, which is not preceded by a get or a set operation. The ‘get' operation on the other hand gauge the value of the parameter at hand. The ‘set' operation changes the value of the parameter. Ordinarily, the router is connected to two networks as a medium of forwarding data packets across the networks. It is the responsibility of the FC230 service router to determine the best path to use in forwarding the data packets. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and FC230 Services errors before installing any driver updates.
