The OBEX or Object Exchange is also known as IroBEX. It is a type of communication standard much like Bluetooth or Infrared, through which users can exchange binary objects between devices such as cellular phones, computers or laptops. The groups that made this standard possible are the Infrared Data Association and the Bluetooth Special Interest Group with the SyncML wing of the Open Mobile Alliance. Palm III was the first one who incorporated this technology in their devices. These PDAs or personal digital assistants utilize OBEX to exchange business cards, data, or even applications. Bluetooth, RS232, USB and WAP also make use of OBEX technology. The HTTP OBEX has a similar function in transmitting and connecting to a server. The FOMA P902i OBEX Port is basically a serial port. It is capable of allowing data transfer to and from a device at a half duplex mode.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
Device connection and data transfer using serial ports is not a very common practice anymore, thanks to the new technology called USB (Universal Serial Bus). Although the new USB and Firewire technologies are more commonly used than the serial and parallel port connections, these methods of connection are still being used by some users. These connections are still being used in many fields. Other devices, aside from personal computers, utilize serial ports as a method of connection. As of the moment, the fastest connection method when it comes to data transfer rate is the new USB 2.0. This technology has a very fast data transfer rate. This connection also allows hi speed Internet connection. The FOMA P902i OBEX Port device driver is compatible with the operating system platforms Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and FOMA P902i OBEX Port errors before installing any driver updates.
